The fight has begun!

The championship started for the Open and Women teams on Tuesday evening. The Youth teams has also arrived to Örebro, but they will have to wait until Wednesday morning to play their first matches. What to do while waiting? They asked for a deck of cards of course…

A misunderstanding with the reservations of hotelrooms for some of the players in the Swedish Youthteams, had to be sorted out quickly, There was a bed for everybody to sleep in last night - so we hope they did.

After dinner and captains’ meeting it was time to play, and Sweden Open had a good start in their first match against Iceland Open. It looked as it could be a big win for Sweden from the beginning, but Iceland had a very strong finish, and when the last board was played it even seemed like they had caught up and passed. But… there was a ruling on board 5 that didn’t go Icelands way, so the result was corrected to a small win for Sweden afterall.

Unfortenately there was a problem with board 9 in the second match between Denmark - Iceland (Women). Denmark was awarded +0.49 and Iceland +0.53 after a ruling, which made the final result 16.72 - 4.30.

Four matches will be played today. Norway is in lead for Open teams and Sweden Yellow for the Women teams. Youths U21 and U26 will join them this morning and Sweden U21-Sweden U26 will be shown on Vugraph (BBO) at10.00.
